The period from 1763-1848 was called an “Age of Revolution.”

The period from 1763-1848 was called an “Age of Revolution.”  But the political revolutions of that era, beginning with the American revolt against British rule and the French revolution differed in significant respects.  Compare and contrast the 1) issues; 2) motives; 3) goals and 4) results of the American and French Revolutions.  Why might historians claim that the “real” revolution was the French adventure, not the American?
